Job Description
The Staff Technical Project Manager will be responsible for taking the lead role in deploying NPI deliverables to meet program milestones. The NPI Project Manager will work closely with Project Lifecycle Management, Programs, Design Engineering, Logistics, Operations Engineering and other cross-functional teams.
You Will:
- Create and modify Microsoft Project schedules for NPI deliverables
- Develop and maintain risk assessments to mitigate timeline. Use PM best practices to document meeting minutes, action items and aggressively close out pending tasks to meet tight timelines
- Understand product design changes, Manufacturing Bill of Materials
- Gain holistic knowledge of the product, production processes, and manufacturing technologies in order to understand and mitigate risks, as well as to recognize optimization opportunities
- Lead NPI Clear to Build activities and DEVREQ meetings to effectively manage DEVREQ’s in the system. Work with CFT to close out devreq’s per program milestones
- Audit conformance to NPI procedures, coach mentor team when necessary
- Responsible to work with Quality PM for other models to ensure lessons learned are carried over, team is aligned to Quality deliverables & their timelines
- Attend key program meetings as single point of contact for NPI
- Develop and execute priorities for the program for NPI team members Create timelines & resource planning for Quality SET or SMT Leads to meet NPI Deliverables for the program
- Update nightly letter with status of NPI deliverables for the build phase & escalations Timely update scorecard for NPI deliverables for 1.) NPI Clear to Build readiness reviews 2.) Program milestone readiness
- Publish weekly NPI metrics for the program
You Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required
- 8+ years in GA Engineering/ Project Management experience
- Experience in the automotive industry is a must
- Must be detail oriented and well organized
- Ability to influence outcomes and drive initiatives in complex environments under tight timelines in an agile fast paced environment.
- Possesses strong presentation skills and communicates clearly and professionally at various levels both inside and outside the company
- Working knowledge of MS project is a must
- Working Knowledge of Catia and Delmia is a plus
- Possess knowledge and experience across multiple functions within product design and manufacturing
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time
