The Legal Administrative Assistant/Paralegal is responsible for facilitating the case management process and assisting the attorneys as required, ensuring responsive customer service with excellent outcomes, and maintaining a neat and professional office environment. The Legal Administrative Assistant/Paralegal directly reports to the Legal Operations Manager.

What you'll do:

  • Answer and transfer incoming calls.
  • Maintain accurate client data in software systems.
  • Assist our attorneys with case preparation, document drafting, and client financial statements.
  • Proofread all documents for errors.
  • Provide backup office support during breaks.
  • Greet and assist visitors in a professional manner.
  • Manage scheduling, consultations, and conference room bookings.
  • Maintain office supplies, equipment, and cleanliness.
  • Scan, save, and manage intake forms and client data.
  • Process retainers, bank deposits, and invoices.
  • Manage attorney calendars, deadlines, and court filings.
  • Prepare exhibits for trial and ensure client communication is up-to-date.
  • Conduct client portal training and schedule regular attorney-client reviews.
  • Track client trust accounts and assist attorneys with correspondence and status updates.
  • Ensure all time entries are recorded per Cordell & Cordell policies.
  • Perform additional billable client-related tasks as assigned.

What we are looking for in a candidate:

  • Required Education:
    • High School Diploma
  • Other Requirements:
    • Previous experience drafting legal documents, assisting Attorneys, completing legal work as assigned
    • Demonstrates customer service standards and ability
    • Professional demeanor with excellent communication and team skills
    • Proven ability to maintain organization, confidentiality, and professionalism in a fast-paced ever-growing environment
  • Minimum Years of Experience:
    • 2+ Years Previous Applicable Experience
